The Central Catholic Basketball program provides an opportunity for student-athletes interested in basketball to improve their skills through interscholastic WPIAL and PIAA league competition and playoffs.

Students have the opportunity to compete on our basketball teams at the freshman, junior varsity and varsity levels. Game preparation consists of a rigorous practice schedule and preseason weight training and conditioning, as well as off-season summer and fall leagues, and open gyms. 

Players representing Central Catholic are expected to be exemplary in their discipline, dedication, and attitude. Hard work and team play are the foundation of the program’s philosophy. The varsity team has achieved great success, winning 16 WPIAL section championships and 2 WPIAL district championships (2008 and 2023). In addition, the varsity team has competed in the PIAA state playoffs several times.
